Stitched in long-wearing Red Heart Super Saver, you’ll crochet in rounds with 2 strands of yarn in crossed single crochet. Antlers, ears, eyes and nose are done with a smaller hook in rounds. Contrast A Café Latte (0360) 1 ball

Contrast B Hot Red (0390) 1 ball

Contrast C Soft White (0316) 1 ball

Contrast D Black (0312) 1 ball

Sizes U.S. G/6 (4 mm) and U.S. K/10½ (6.5 mm) crochet hooks or size needed to obtain gauge. Stitch marker. Yarn needle. Stu ng for Nose.

MEASUREMENTS

Approx 9½” [24 cm] diameter x 7″ [18 cm] tall, excluding antlers and nose GAUGES 16 sc and 18 rows = 4″ [10 cm] with smaller hook and 1 strand of yarn. 10½ twisted sc and 11 rows = 4″ [10 cm] with larger crochet hook and 2 strands of yarn.

INSTRUCTIONS

BASKET Notes:

• Basket is wor ked with 2 strands of yarn. • Antlers, Nose and Eyes are worked with 1 strand of yarn. • Join each rnd with sl st to  rst sc. With 2 strands of A and larger hook, ch 2.

1st rnd: 8 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join. 8 sc.

2nd rnd: Ch 1. 2 sc in each sc around. Join. 16 sc.

3rd rnd: Ch 1. *2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in next sc. Rep from * around. Join. 24 sc.

4th rnd: Ch 1. *2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in each of next 2 sc. Join. 32 sc.

5th rnd: Ch 1. *2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in each of next 3 sc. Join. 40 sc.

6th rnd: Ch 1. *2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in each of next 4 sc. Join. 48 sc.

7th rnd: Ch 1. *2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in each of next 5 sc. Join. 56 sc.

8th rnd: Ch 1. *2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in each of next 6 sc. Join. 64 sc.

9th rnd: Ch 1. *2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in each of next 7 sc. Join. 72 sc.

10th rnd: Ch 1. *2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in each of next 8 sc. Join 2 strands of MC. 80 sc. Break A.

11th rnd: With 2 strands of MC, ch 1. Working in back loops only, 1 sc in each sc around. Join. PM at end of rnd.

12th rnd: Ch 1. *1 twisted sc in each sc around. Join. Rep last rnd until work from marked rnd measures 7” [18 cm].

Next rnd: Ch 1. Working from right to left instead of left to right as usual, work 1 reverse sc in each sc around. Join. Fasten o .

REINDEER ANTLERS (make 2).

With A and smaller hook, ch 14. Join with sl st to to  rst ch to form a ring. 1st rnd: Ch 1. 1 sc in each ch around. Join.

**2nd rnd: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc around. Join. Rep last rnd 10 times more.

Shape Side Antler: 1st rnd: Ch 1. 2 sc in  rst sc. 1 sc in each sc to last sc. 2 sc in last sc. Join. Rep last rnd until there are 24 sc.

Next rnd: Ch 1. 1 sc in each of  rst 6 sc. Ch 2. Skip next 12 sc. 1 sc in each of last 6 sc. Join.

Next rnd: Ch 1. 1 sc in each of  rst 6 sc. 1 sc in each of next 2 ch. 1 sc in each of last 6 sc. Join. 14 sc.

Next 6 rnds: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc around. Join.

Shape top of Side Antler: Next rnd: Ch 1. 1 sc in  rst sc. (1 sc in next sc. Sc2tog) 4 times. 1 sc in last sc. Join. 10 sts.

Next rnd: Ch 1. (Sc2tog) 5 times. Join. 5 sts. Fasten o , leaving a long end. Thread yarn through rem sts. Pull tightly. Fasten securely.

Main Antler: Join A with sl st to rem loops of ch-2.

1st rnd: Ch 1. 1 sc in rem loops of ch-2. 1 sc in each skipped sc around. Join. 14 sc.

2nd rnd: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc around. Join. ** Rep from ** to ** once more. Rep last rnd 5 times more.

Shape top of Main Antler: Next rnd: Ch 1. 1 sc in  rst sc. (1 sc in next sc. Sc2tog) 4 times. 1 sc in last sc. Join. 10 sts.

Next rnd: Ch 1. (Sc2tog) 5 times. Join. 5 sts. Fasten o , leaving a long end. Thread yarn through rem sts. Pull tightly. Fasten securely. sew Reindeer Antlers to inside of Basket.

EARS (make 2)

With MC and smaller hook, ch 2.

1st rnd: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join. 6 sc.

2nd rnd: Ch 1. (1 sc in next sc. 2 sc in next sc) 3 times. Join. 9 sc.

3rd rnd: Ch 1. (1 sc in each of next 2 sc. 2 sc in next sc) 3 times. Join. 12 sc.

4th rnd: Ch 1. (1 sc in each of next 3 sc. 2 sc in next sc) 3 times. Join. 15 sc.

5th rnd: Ch 1. (1 sc in each of next 4 sc. 2 sc in next sc) 3 times. Join. 18 sc.

6th rnd: Ch 1. (1 sc in each of next 5 sc. 2 sc in next sc) 3 times. Join. 21 sc.
