Contrast B Tangerine (01699) 1 ball or 37 yds/34 m
Contrast C Seabreeze (01201) 1 ball or 40 yds/36 m
Contrast D Hot Green (01712) 1 ball or 32 yds/29 m
Note: 1 ball each of A, B, C and D will make 3 Chargers. Size U.S. 7 (4.5 mm) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge.
MEASUREMENT
Approx 15½” [39.5 cm] diameter. GAUGE 14 sc and 15 rows = 4″ [10 cm].
INSTRUCTIONS
Notes:
• Charger is worked in rounds with RS always facing.
• Join yarn with sl st at beg of rnds and at end of rnds where indicated.
• To join new color, work to last loops on hook of rst color. Yoh with new color, draw through loops and proceed with new color. With A, beg using magic loop method, demonstrated here. See diagram.
1st rnd: Ch 1. 8 sc in magic loop. Join with sl st to rst sc.
2nd rnd: Ch 6 (counts as 1 dc and ch-3 sp). (1 dc in next sc. Ch 3) 7 times. Join with sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch-6. Fasten off. 8 ch-3 sps.
3rd rnd: Join B to any ch-3 sp. [Ch 3 (does not count as dc). 3 dc in ch-3 sp. Ch 3 (does not count as dc). Sl st into same ch-3 sp. Sl st into next ch-3 sp] 8 times. Fasten off. 8 petals.
4th rnd: Join C to rst dc in any petal. Ch 1. 1 sc in each of rst 3 dc. Ch 3. (1 sc in each of next 3 dc. Ch 3) 7 times. Join to rst sc. 24 sc and 8 ch-3 sps.
5th rnd: Ch 1. 1 sc in each of rst 3 sc. 4 sc in next ch-3 sp. *1 sc in each of next 3 sc. 4 sc in next ch-3 sp. Rep from * around. Join to rst sc. Break C. Join A. 56 sc.
