SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

• 4″ embroidery hoops (2)
• Pack of DMC® Stitchable Mesh Fabric
• DMC® Six-Strand Embroidery Floss – Colors 3799, 351, 3731, 760, 498
• Mini pom pom trim, 1 yard
• Hot glue gun & glue sticks
• Scissors
• Embroidery needle, size 7
• Ball point pen or fine Sharpie™ marker for transfer pattern

DIRECTIONS:

1. 1. Print the pattern by clicking on the “Print project” button. Place mesh over the pattern and trace onto mesh with a pen or marker. Position each heart so that both designs will fit on one sheet of mesh or use 2 sheets of mesh.
   2. Cut the mesh apart and place each section in a hoop. Make sure the design is centered in the hoop according to the pattern.
   3. Stitch the designs:
   4. For the lettering, outline each letter with a backstitch using DMC 3799. Fill in the designs with a loose diagonal satin stitch for a sketchy, hand-drawn look.
   5. Stitch the flowers with lazy daisy stitching. The stitching will look cleaner on the mesh if the floss is knotted after each flower.
   6. Embroider the arrow with back stitches and fill the point of the arrow with satin stitching. Outline the arrow with DMC 498.

1. NOTE: Do not stitch the arrow line between the hoops.

1. After stitching, ensure that the mesh is taut in the hoops and tighten the hoop’s screw. Trim the mesh on the back side of the hoop so that it is flush with the wood of the hoop.
2. Glue the pompom trim on the back side of the hoop so that the pompoms show around the edge.
3. Place the hoops in their correct alignment according to the pattern and mark the point where the center section of the arrow ends and begins on the two hoops.
4. Using six strands of DMC498 floss, run the needle from front to back at the point the arrow line starts on the top hoop. Knot the thread on the back side.
5. Take the thread out of the needle and separate it into three groups of two strands. Braid the floss the length of the arrow section.
6. Add the floss to the needle again and connect the hoops by passing the needle through from front to back on the second hoop. Knot the floss on the back side.
7. Hang the hoops so the middle section of the arrow is straight.
